Landmark Forestry LLC is a forest-consulting firm with two offices in West Virginia. Our parent office is located near the town of Weston, WV. It is here that Landmark Forestry LLC began in 1992 as a single person firm working primarily with non-industrial private landowners. Since that time, Landmark Forestry LLC has expanded its operations to include Contractual Forest Management, Acquisition Inventories, GIS and GPS integrated applications, Commercial and Rural Land Appraisals, Aerial Photography, and many other activities. With this expansion has come the need for an office in Petersburg, WV. From these locations, Landmark Forestry LLC serves a broad array of clients ranging from non-industrial private landowners to many corporate clients along the east coast. Landmark Forestry LLC prides itself in professional, accurate, and timely work that is overseen by a work ethic of the highest standards. It is our mission to provide forest management solutions that are powered by technology and guided by experience and education. Please take some time to browse through our web site to learn more about our staff, our products, and some of the projects that have been completed. We think that you will be impressed!
On April 14, 2012, Michael McWhorter was presented the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the West Virginia University Division of Forestry and Natural Resources Alumni Association. The award is given in recognition of commitment to the field of forestry and the utmost professional service provided to the region. The award has been used to acknowledge the accomplishments of worthy recipients since 1982 to WVU Division graduates and is an extraordinary acknowledgment in its field.
Mike took time to acknowledge the people who have influenced him both personally and professionally over his life. He also stated that his key to “success” was “finding something that made you happy…then finding someone to pay you for it”. Mike complemented his staff by saying, “Although this award has my name on it, I feel that this is recognition of all of your accomplishments here. Without your competence and willingness to do whatever it takes to be the best, we wouldn’t have received the award.”
Congratulations Mike on this prestigious award!
